Mine would require my auto bilge to run aprox 5 minutes/hour when it was leaking. Made me nervous to leave it out overnight but I did a few times.
I think most people on this site probably ditched the points a long time ago. I run an auto HEI distro.... Plenty of marine options out there, though.
Here's my thread from last year. If your rudder and port are the same as mine, you need to replace the seal, o-rings and snap ring. Have to remove the port to do it. It's not a trivial project,...
You sure your tank is full? When I'm almost empty it will do this same thing. The pick-up is in the front of the tank.... when the nose comes up, it starves for fuel, but you'll still have enough...
No such thing as too much weight unless the rub rail is covered or water is coming over the stern. Keep sacking!
What's that thru-hull on the right side of that photo?
Looks like it's in good shape. GLWS!
It does charge but it certainly doesn't put out 160amps. It came with a little graph that shows how it bench-tested. It's been a long time but I believe it doesn't come on until 1500RPMs. I don't...
Please do. I've mounted my hummingbird in 3 different places and it still doesn't work. I suspect my transceiver is bad but I'm just so sick of it. :(
hahah! I just like that it's different. I've seen enough wraps with skulls and nautical compasses. This is unique, creative, and well executed.
3M Decal remover wheel. It's like a giant pink eraser and will take all the remaining residue off. Then rubbing compound, polish and wax. It will look brand new!
I've got the DB Electrical 160amp Marine alternator. I've had it 7 years now. Never had a problem. It's one of the only things on my boat that has lasted.
Knocking on wood SO HARD right now.
Before the old timers come in.... I just want to say that, I LOVE THIS!!
I'd add some rounding/shading to the teeth but that's just me. You had a real artist work on your boat. When does he want...
Those 1-wire alternators have the exciter built into them. Easy to install and eliminates several wires. I don't see a down-side.
Trailer looks brand new!
Why does your tower always look crooked to me? Is it slightly askew?
You sure you have all of the bolts out? Sounds like something is still attached. Keep in mind that this has been wet/moist and sitting for a long time. Couple whacks with a mallet and/or some heat...
Starting to really come together!
You could also try the hot wrench. A little flame would probably separate them right off.
For the water, there is a few different options. Most prefer that the engine "suck" in water, rather than have a hose "push" it in. I don't think it makes a difference, but it's easy to set it up...
The red wire going to the starter solenoid is connected to the key and engages the starter when you turn it.
Do you still have the original alternator? It should be connected to the starter...
Your method will work but it's going to be hard work.
Get some hull cleaner (or muriatic acid -- same thing but a lot cheaper). Spray on, brush, spray off. That gunk line will be gone and she'll...
If you melted the negative side of the battery, you have a short some where. Check for continuity between + on the battery and ground. Clean and inspect the cable that goes between your negative...
My dripless collar actually has 2 allen set screws with 2 additional allen set screws holding those in. Need to take out the outermost set to get to the innermost set.
His Vinyl lady isn't going to have Pantone 403/404 vinyl -- she's going to have a black and maybe a couple of shades of grey.
Sign vinyl has a pretty small selection. It's impossible to color...
