I have trouble with mine sometimes too, I really have to depress on that blue power button to get it on. But I don't use my head unit anymore so it's not really a big deal for me.

the default setting for the PP in wakeboard mode is already set for 50% on the wakeplate. Are you using it like that?

There's a video how to on wakemakers site for removing the glued fittings. As dusty and kg said, hairdryer is the way to go.
