This is just a hair brained idea, but why haven't they ever put a strainer on a tube and run a leg off the outflow side of the cooling system to vacuum the water out of the bilge into the exhaust and...
So, I changed the flax seal in the stuffing box today. My freekin fingers are crossed! It went in so easy. I started out by pulling 6 rings of old flax out of there! there's only supposed to be 3. i...
HAHA, the space flight thing is true. First off, I am an Aircraft Electronics Technician on F-15's. I was looking at my 88 sunsport the other day and their wiring is overly complicated.... more so...
wakemikey's suggestion was great. another thing to check is the carb. not just your idle, but the rest of it. it may need cleaned out with some carb and choke cleaner. another option is a carb...
Thanks for the pic. I guess I won't be pulling those. haha. so to fix the problem, do i just change the seals and then pinch the steering unit lower on the rudder??
Ok.... I've checked out all the threads on leaking rudders and haven't found what I'm looking for so here goes. My 88 sunsport's rudder has quite a bit of vertical play. I can see the bottom seal on...
Mikey, the plywood I'm talking about is what the backs of the seats staple to. When you pull out the bow cushions, the plywood is right there around the outside. it may not be visible if it isn't...
It's not dripping it's got a steady stream. I'm gonna try to tighten the nut. If that doesn't work, I'll change the flax. Thanks for the advice guys.
Pure happiness

I live in Westfield, Mass. how are the spots up in NH??
Thanks for the posts. got it figured out. Took me hours of staring at wires with no schematics but I got it. kinda helps to be an aircraft electrician. :) whoever did the electronics on these old...
This may be a stupid question but is the fuel light in the cockpit for low fuel, water in the fuel, or something completely different. mine is flashing sometimes and sometimes on steady. I think the...
Just wondering if anyone on here wakeboards in the New England area?? I'm pretty new to the area and would definitely like to get in touch with anyone that wakeboards or even just cruises thh rivers...
Thanks for this info. the site is great. I'm doing mine this week. took the boat out for the first time and it had a pretty steady little stream coming in but nothing the bilge pump couldn't handle....
Chautauqua sun posted this website a few days ago and it is by far the best breakdown of the stuffing box i have seen yet. I'm replacing my seal before my next outing and the directions left no room...
Absolutely! I like teak but I'll also go to the fiberglass side if the price and size are right. there's nothin better than having a giant swim platform to sit on to strap in.

Finally got the ol girl back to my place so here's the first set of pics. It was never washed after last season so I gotta clean her up pretty good. I'll be on her all morning working so there'll be...
HAHAHA! Hope your wife doesn't read that. Hopefully you get to get out this weekend and do some boating. the 4th just isnt the same without a lake, a boat and a liberal amount of beer.
That's a big benifit of not being married. within reason means whenever the heck I want. Well... As long as Uncle Sam says it's alright.
My rig has a strainer on it and it still runs a bit hotter at idle. I wouldn't worry about a few degrees. a lot of i/o's get way hotter than a few degrees when idled too long. you're just not sucking...
That's a sweet lookin boat man. I know I'm a little behind on this conversation but I hope my boat looks that good by the time I'm done with it
