    Default 1990 Sunsport--thoughts?

    Hey all!

I am continuing my LONG search for a good Supra here in California after a 4 month hiatus....thoughts on the following boat? I have not had a chance to look at it yet but the ad looks OKAY. Owner claims the engine mount locations are solid but is unsure about the floor if there are any soft spots...she is supposed to check tonight. I really don't think they know TOO much about the boat other than that it "has been a great boat" and "always takes us out on a nice day on the lake without problem."

Please see the boat below...I will hopefully be looking at it Sunday. Any first impressions though?

That looks like a sweet deal I would move fast on it . For 6k even if you have to do a floor and stringers in the future its still a winner?

Looks nice. Is there a chance that it's a fiberglass stringer boat? Or did the fiberglass stringers come about the same time as the curved windshield?

1992 was the crossover year from wood to fiberglass. Usually the fiberglass boats have the round windshields.

I agree with Michael, sounds like a good deal. Check it out real good and if there's ANY sign of stringer rot, include that in your negotiations. If you can't find any signs, then have it in your mind that your time is coming. It may last a few seasons, but eventually something will likely have to be done. But for $6k or less, it sounds like a good deal.

Thank you all Sooo much for the feedback. I hope to go check it out tomorrow. She reports "excellent" motor mounts and one soft spot on the floor in front of the rear right seat from where "people usually get out of the water. We will have to see!

As many have said, definitely worth looking into. I have one and am keeping my fingers crossed that the stringers/floor will hold for several more years...

The ad does say "or best offer." Usually the first offer is the best offer much like real estate. I wouldn't pay asking, but that looks and sounds like a great boat from the ad. Good luck!
