    I'm worried it might be worse than you think. Even though you added a ton of antifreeze it still will be greatly diluted when the block isn't drained. Problem is flow out the tail pipe will occour before the fresh water is pushed out. Any frost plugs pushed out. Do a google search of where the 454 typicially lets go when they freeze.

    Freeze plugs all look good. I didn't notice anything wrong with the peformance of the engine when I first got it running in the water. Kinda think the thermostat got stuck closed. The housing had some rust built up but it did test out ok with water on the stove. All eight cylinders had water in them after the overheat so I hope that means roasted head gaskets. Either that or a totaled block. The wind is blowing about 45 today so I will continue the teardown tomorrow. Trying not to stress to much about my baby. Think happy thoughts.
